The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”

"A brand plucked from the fire..." How amazing is that? All we see here is Joshua the high priest stand before the Lord, and before Satan even says anything, the Lord rebukes him claiming Joshua for His own. Now that's being protective! The father of lies has nothing on our Lord and Savior and we are His simply because He has redeemed us. When you think about it, it sure does make one wonder how active our resistance to God must be to walk away from the gift of eternal life that he so freely offers. Amazing...
